“Lower Loxley remains a concern, we have people on the ground constantly reviewing and speaking with those potentially at risk. Sadly high levels are expected throughout the afternoon into the evening.

City Centre and Lower Don time of peak has been pushed back further to around 4pm today. Localised flooding around Meadowhall remains a concern. This is why Meadowhall Covid Testing Centre is now temporarily closed and anyone who had a test booked at the Meadowhall testing centre after this time will be contacted by the Department of Health to arrange an appointment at another Sheffield site.

We have concerns about the bottom end of Blackburn Brook, around Meadowhall Road near the interchange, and this will be monitored carefully, and again roads are at risk of flooding. There is a forecast second peak around 11 pm that we are monitoring.

There are no concerns presently about Upper Don and City Centre, and Chapeltown and Ecclesfield are currently doing okay, but we are monitoring closely.

If anyone is worried about their property they can also request sandbags – the line to call is 0114 273 4567

It is an evolving picture with some localised concerns at the locations mentioned before, but we are doing everything can for these and proactively working to ensure homes and businesses are kept safe”
